Re-Imagining Our Histories is a craft panel featuring AAPI writers whose work builds on the histories of Asian America and/or our ancestral homelands, asking questions such as: How do you see your writing in conversation with these histories? And how does your work re-contextualize the Asian American narrative in the present and posit its future?
Featuring Anjali Enjeti, Lawrence-Minh Bùi Davis, Lisa Ko, and Paisley Rekdal. Moderated by Aditya Desai.
Anjali Enjeti
Author of Southbound: Essays on Identity, Inheritance, and Social Change, and the novel, The Parted Earth, both released in 2021.
Lawrence-Minh Bùi Davis
Poet, curator at Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center, organizer of Asian American Literature Festival, and editor-in-chief of the Asian American Literary Review.
Lisa Ko
Author of the novel The Leavers (2017), winner of the PEN/Bellwether Prize and finalist for the National Book Award.
Paisley Rekdal
Poet Laureate of Utah and author of six non-fiction books, including the latest Appropriate: A Provocation (2021).
Aditya Desai (Moderator)
Fiction writer and essayist, board member & secretary of CityLit Project, Associate Editor of South Asian Avant-Garde Anthology and co-host/producer of podcast Diasaporastan.
